So, this blogging business can’t be all that hard, right? So many people do it. Well, we’ll soon find out as this is all new to me.

I like books. Their existance is an integral part of my life. They calm me, teach me about life and provide me with entertainment and adventure. My TBR pile fills a bookcase and I have boxes of books stashed at my sister’s. I also freak out if I leave my house without a book in my bag.

So, having acknowledged my obsession with books, I propose to review, think about and make lists of some of the more interesting books, films, food and travel which feature in my life. This will primarily be a book blog but I look forward to seeing how it will evolve.

I read a wide variety of books with a focus on historical crime, mysteries and fantasy/speculative fiction occasionally dipping into popular, literary and classical fiction. Japanese, Sri Lankan and French fiction are also of great interest to me.

I also read non-fiction books, mainly interwar and early 20th century history, history of science and books about reading and writing.

Oh, and I write too.
