I seemed to have posted my scandalously incomplete review of R. Scott Bakker’s The Darkness That Comes Before before it was ready. Obviously I am still confused with the Save Draft and Publish buttons and cannot tell them apart. I’ve taken it down so that I can present you all with a lovingly-crafted, finished review later in the week.
On a completely unrelated note, I went to see Noël Coward’s Private Lives starring Kim Cattrall and Matthew MacFadyen two nights ago. I recall seeing it years ago when Joan Collins was the lead actress. And although the play was amazing and the acting wonderful (Kim Cattrall was luminescent), my evening was complete when I spied Rupert Everett seated 5 rows in front of us! Rupert Everett. Still so beautiful.

Celeb-spotting in the audience always adds a little frisson of extra excitement doesn’t it. I once sat one seat away from Alan Rickman and can’t remember much about the play at all!
Back to Private Lives – I saw Joan Collins too, was it Roger Rees playing Eliot? All I can remember of that production was her doing the splits at one point…

OMG, I think we probably saw the same production. I remember the splits too!
And Alan Rickman? Lucky you!
